Can you start by telling us a little about yourself? (For e.g. where do you live? What do you do for a living? What are your favorite hobbies/activities outside of work?)
I live in Colchester VT. My husband Doug is also a Saint Michael’s graduate and as we both fell in love with the area, we bought a house in Vermont to retire in. Currently, I serve on public, private and government boards. I was appointed by the governor of Vermont to the Green Mountain Care Board which is responsible for ensuring our health care system provides quality, affordable health care to all Vermonters while reducing waste and controlling costs. I am also a director for BlackRock Capital Investments, Liberty All-Star Funds and a member of the Board of Trustee at Saint Michael’s. I enjoy being outdoors, skiing, playing tennis and boating on Lake Champlain.

Can you describe your Saint Michael’s College experience?
A time for independence and exploration. Social, sports, and academics were all key elements. My best friends and closest relationships all from Saint Michael’s

What advice would you give to current female students?
Branch out of your comfort zone. Try new things and take classes outside your major. Participate in different events on and off campus. Do an internship and find someone who can mentor you.

What are some strategies that can help women achieve a more prominent role in their organizations?
Throughout your career, networking and building relationships throughout and outside the organization will be important. Set goals for yourself, not just pertaining to your current position but for your career and personal goals.

What keeps you motivated and driven every day?
Family, friends, and faith.
